After yesterday’s Fall Foliage drive up to Greenville and 250+ miles later, I was rather tired last night, and it carried over to this morning as well. Everything felt exhausted, even though all I did was drive yesterday. The mental aspect of having to stay pretty much focused for the better part of almost eight hours on back roads and a few roads I hadn’t been on in years got the best of me.
A few photos from yesterday.

I procrastinated as long as I could to get out the door to do my run this morning. When I finally did get out the door, I had to ply all kinds of mental gymnastics to get the 5.0 miles in.
I did it, but it wasn’t easy.
Although, I did manage to run to the top of Bartlett Road for the first time in a long time. Nothing much has changed up there and as far as running goes, it was slower going up than it was coming back down.
I had intended to do 5×30 second strides this morning, but the way I was feeling, that didn’t happen. Although I did pick it up a bit more than I thought I would coming back down Bartlett.
A quick jaunt in the woods was required when I got back to the dirt road and then on Stevens Hill, I didn’t have much left. So, of course, I had to push myself to finish up one more mile after I went by the house.
More of those mental gymnastics were required to finish. 😉
I wore the Karhu Ikoni 2020s, and they did well. It is so nice to run without my feet bothering at all. They will never be go faster shoes, they are just too heavy, but they work great for eating up the daily miles and sneaking in a quick burst here or there.

Thank you for sharing!
