I am moving this post from its original blog to here, so I can easily see what I wanted to do this year quickly and easily.
Happy New Year to one and all. I hope 2020 is the best year yet for everyone.
Yes, there will be highs and lows, challenges, and times to cherish, they are all part of life. As I get older, I find that what matters the most is how I react to and see situations, people, and events more than what is actually occurring.
A beautiful view to start the New Year
I hope that in 2020 we all stop and take a look at what we are seeing, doing, or what is being done to us from a different perspective, even if it is for a moment. Who knows we are not always as correct about things as we believe we are.
2020 Where Do I Go From Here
For the most part, I am happy with the direction my life is taking as I enter into my 63rd year on this little blue marble.
In the past, I have tried resolutions, specific goals and all the other falderal that goes along with saying that we are changing our lives to start a new year – none of them seem to fit the direction I am going in life now that I have retired.
Yeah, finally I am going to say it, I am retired.
I don’t plan on going back into the workforce and my job now is to work hard at being healthy, making my relationships with others better, and enjoying each day that I have left.
To be blunt, in 2020 I don’t want to change a lot. At this point in my life, it is more about tweaking a few things, than making huge changes. I will be focusing more on how to make 2020 a little better each day. Along with riding out the challenges that will come over the course of the coming year.
- My goals, if you want to call them goals for 2020 are going to be simple this year:
- Enjoy the life that I have and continue to move forward from there.
- Smile and laugh more.
- Do more things that challenge me every day (physically and mentally).
- Run some miles faster, but run slower more often and focus on enjoying my running.
- Read more and not the same genres as usual.
- Write about what I want to write about.
- Remain frugal in most things.
- Be and stay humble.
- Think and look outside the box more often.
- Most of all be me.
No long-winded explanations of how I will accomplish them or what I mean by each one. Although I foresee writing something about each one as the year goes on. I am not going to measure so many things that it results in measuring the joy out of living.
Yeah, though I would like to step on the scale next January 1st and be under 155. hehehehe
Otherwise – I wish everyone a Happy New Year and may it be the best year of your lives so far.
What are your goals for 2020?
Any thoughts to ponder on?
