Christmas Eve 2019 – Pretty Quiet Around Heah

I wish all who celebrate it, a very enjoyable Christmas Eve, that you get to spend time with family and/or friends that your evening is a good one. Also, I will wish everyone a very Merry Christmas tonight as well. If you exchange gifts, I hope that you got some things that you needed and wanted, but remember the day is not about what you get, but more about who you are with and how much love you can share with your family and friends.

No, I am not being sappy, it is what I believe and as I get older, I believe it more each year.

I am not sure of when or if I will do a post tomorrow or not. It depends on what is going on.

Tonight we are in relaxation mode, Mary and the girls have been in baking mode and have got most everything ready for the Holiday festivities in the morning.

Today was more about getting little things done, like putting up towel bars in the bathroom, finishing my shopping for Mary (yeah, I know) and stuff like that.

I did my go faster workout, but I wasn’t feeling all that great and pulled the plug after 4.0 miles. However, I was satisfied with the effort level and what I did accomplish while running on the treadmill.

1.0 mile @ 6.8 mph — warm-up
1.0 mile @ 8.6 mph – 5K race pace
4 x .25 @ 8.7, 8.8, 8.9 and 9.0 mph
Recoveries were at 6.8 mph

At the last minute, I decided to do this workout versus the progression run that I had originally planned on. I have a feeling that I might have done better with the tempo and hills I had planned. Something was off and I struggled a lot more than I usually do on the last couple of faster quarters. Otherwise, I would have done a couple of more quarters and then a series of .10 strides at mile pace.

It was a good workout, but not the one that I wanted or expected. Some days are like that and you just have to smile then move on to the next workout.

A pretty eclectic bunch of articles and none of them really made me go mmm enough to comment much about any of them.

Not a great day, but another day that wasn’t all that terrible either.
