This One Sucked – RunLog 11/11/19

Last night’s wind storm was pretty nasty, but luckily we never lost power, although just down the road on Tiffany when I ran by the generators were cranking at a lot of the houses.

Over on Blake Hill, this tree was sitting pretty precariously and the wind was still roaring pretty good, so we turned around instead of going under the “widow maker”.

Today’s run sucked, but I finished, so there is that. It was one of those you get out the door the wind seemed to be blowing steady at 20 mph with some really interesting gusts always in your face – no matter what direction you were running.

Planned Workout Description: Rest/Easy – So I planned on an easy 5.0

  • Day: Friday
  • Time of Day: 10:47a
  • Course: Notta Road O/B
  • Distance: 5.04
  • Time of Run: 48:45
  • Pace: 9:40
  • Type of Workout: Easy run
  • Rating: 1
  • Running Streak Day #: 8
  • Weather: Mostly Cloudy, 50*F feels Ike 44*F, Humidity 53%, Wind 20 mph steady with gusts in 30-40 mph range from WSW

Variables that impacted the run: Didn’t sleep well with the wind storm last night, worried too much about loosing power, luckily we didn’t although many around us did, yeah it was a bit breezy too.

Comments: Let’s just say the run sucked and move on.

Shoes Worn: New Balance Beacon 2 (218.4). It has been a while since I wore the B2’s and I had forgotten how firm they are, great shoes, but firmer than you expect. The outsole tread is fairly worn now and when I hit some wet spots on the tar it got a little interesting, but on the slimy spots on the dirt road it was not interesting or fun.

I can see these being saved for dry weather and longer treadmill runs, they are just about past their daily trainer status for me at this point.

How did this run move me towards my goal(s)? I ran.

Cardio Total: 3.26
