Happy April Fool’s Day!
Mother Nature is doing her April Fool’s joke on my little part Maine, it has been snowing like hell since early this morning and yet when I look at the road this is what I see
Which is okay with me!
The original forecast called for 6-12″ and while we will probably end up with around 4-5 inches in the driveway, it will go away on its own pretty quickly once the snow stops.
With the roads being mostly clear, unless you had to get in the shoulder when a vehicle went or were dumb enough to run in the very visible snow patches, I decided to head out for a run. I was planning on a nice easy run and for a change – that is just what I did.
No pushing, just a run down to the end of Pepin and back. Yeah, coming up the hill was tough and I slowed down even more. However, I noticed something strange when I got done, it said my average heart rate was 186, which was kind of off from the exertion I was feeling during the run.
I know when I am working that hard and there ain’t no way my heart rate was that high. When I looked at the graph, the crazy heart-rate started about half-way down the hill and stayed in the same range, getting up to 198 a couple of times. I could see this kind of rate if I was doing an all-out 5K, but I was just cruising along at a 9:00 minute pace.
So I tend to think something got funky on the watch and I turned it off to reset it. After that it seemed to work fine.
