Nothing Outside Today – RunLog 3-27-17

Standard

When I went outside for Bennie’s first walk this morning, this is what I was greeted with.

Yeah, ice lots and LOTS of ice. One of those automatic no goes for me outside and I was glad that I had decided to wear the screw shoes, they kept me upright while outside walking Bennie this morning.

Balancing on one foot while taking a photo on ice, well it was a little tricky

Okay, enough whining about the weather, suffice it to say that I didn’t run before work this morning and the treadmill was the instrument of no-choice at lunch when I ran.

I ran 8.0 yesterday and wasn’t sure about how I would feel today, especially since I wore the NB Vazee Rush v2’s on it yesterday. However, I knew I was feeling pretty good by the time I finished the first mile and was running out of time to get back to work, so I decided to get my butt in gear and get it done.

  • 1.0 – 7.2 mph
  • 1.0 – 7.3 mph
  • 1.0 – 7.6 mph
  • 0.5 – 7.7 mph
  • .25 – 8.1 mph
  • .15 – 8.6 mph
  • .10 – 9.1 mph

A nice progression run, but not really what I was planning to do today, it should have been more of a slower rest day and ended up pretty going at a sub-8:00 minute pace for a couple of miles. It didn’t feel hard until I got up in the 8.0+ mph range, so that is pretty encouraging and the legs feel pretty good tonight.

I am liking the Vazee Rush v2’s a lot. They have been very versatile, giving decent protection for longer runs and feeling good on faster runs. The biggest problem I have been having is that running slower with them on doesn’t really happen all that easily. Which can be a problem if I wear them too often.
