First Vlog and Runlog 12/21/11

Today the run was done in freezing and it was starting to get a little slippery at the end. However, this post is less about the run and more about taking myself out of my comfort zone and trying Vlogging to see how it goes.

Without further ado

I thought that I would use my running logs for a while to get used to this delivery format before I branch out.

I have used video before, when I was a teacher. I would video myself in the classroom to give my students the opportunity to listen/watch the lesson so they could review it again or if they missed the class they didn’t miss everything. Then I would then put these on my class website so they could watch them at any time they wanted to.

What do you think?  Constructive criticism is solicited and no I didn’t script this one, just winged it. I would definitely script if I was doing attempting to do something in a more “professional” manner.

In the vlog I talked about what the road looked like and here are a couple of photos of what I was running on.

Ice across the road
When I got back to the house, getting very slippery

Quality of run: Very good
Weight:172
Time of Run: 10:30 A.M.
Temp: 31F
Weather: Freezing Rain

  1. Great job! I really enjoy the vlog format..you feel like you get to know the people even better! And glad you made it through the slippery stuff.Finally–wow. A long time injured for you. I was out all year this year and cannot imagine adding two more to that. Glad you are back!

  2. Miss Z – thank you for the comment. That is one thing about the vlogging format, you get to see the person, their mannerisms, and how they say things. That is also the tough part for me at least, putting myself out there publicly – I am a fairly private person and this is a long ways out of my comfort zone, but it wasn't too bad. I just made believe I was making something for my old students :-)Harold

  3. Oops didn't answer the second part…thanks it was a tough time, but hopefully I am through it now and back to running. I am glad we are both back out doing something we love – just running 🙂
