Even though I had run a couple of miles over at Bond Brook, I still felt like running a little more. Since the trail was closed over there, I decided to go over to UMA and run the trail.
I figured with all the snow gone, it would be a lot easier than it was last weekend with 3-5 inches of snow on the trail.
I felt good and was fairly well warmed up from the Bond Brook run, so I was able to run along at a pretty good clip right off the bat. I made it up all the hills and cruised along at a very good pace on the flats and down hills. I slowed down to take a few pics, but never stopped through the whole course and probably could have ran a little faster if I had wanted to.
This is a picture of the final hill, it isn’t that bad of a hill, but it comes with about a 1/2 mile left in the run and I was pretty tired by the time I hit this hill, but I made it up it without walking, but it wasn’t a whole lot faster than a brisk walk up the sucka, but at least I am now making it up these hills!
Quality of Run: Very Good
Time of Run: 10:40 A.M.
Weather: Partly sunny and windy
This was the first time this year I have done a double work-out in the same day since 2007 and I feel pretty good. Not something that I am going to start doing very often, I still want to take things slow and build my base up a lot more. However, it is good to know that I can do it and it doesn’t bother the knee.
